Twice As Nice: Cam and Payton Top the Box in Rock Hill
Last Saturday was a day for the record books for Team Mongoose at the legendary Rock Hill BMX Supercross track in South Carolina! Our very own Payton "P-Nut" Ridenour and Cam Wood both scored the win against the top elite riders in the world at the USA BMX Carolina National!
Cam, P-Nut and our 14-year-old expert Mason Hayes had a busy week in South Carolina, which included visiting local schools on behalf of Mongoose and the USA BMX Foundation to get young students stoked on BMX (more to come).
No better way to top off the great week then for our pros to take the win for men's and women's elite on Saturday, and Mason to take the win in Open Class on Sunday! We caught up with both P-Nut and Cam after their big wins!
P-NUT: "This win has been a long time coming! There’s so much work that goes on behind the scenes to make this happen. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get my first USA BMX elite win other than the east coast. I had a lot of my riding friends from back home there cheering me on and it was incredible! But one of the best parts: two gooses on the top step of the podium!!! I’m super thankful to be a part of the Mongoose family, it was a great weekend for the team! Clearly Mongoose bikes are fast."
CAM: "Put my Mongoose back on the top step for win #2 on the year! Was quite the day dealing with the windy conditions and I managed to make it happen from lane 7 in the final. Rock Hill hasn’t been so good to me in the past, so to grab a win there felt amazing. An epic day for Mongoose as not only one, but two first place finishes were claimed in the pro categories. The gooses were burning rubber! I’m thankful to be a part of the Mongoose family and share these moments with the great people involved."
