Mongoose Pros Compete Live at FISE Montpellier

FISE Montpellier is back and what a contest it was!  This UCI World Cup event had some of the biggest names in BMX, including Mongoose pros Nikita Ducarroz and Kevin Peraza. We even had our Australian rider Liam Quinlivan out there putting on an impressive show who just missed qualifying.

Kevin had some troubles in qualifying, but squeaked into the semi-finals and then on to finals where he earned a respectful 9th place finish.  Even though he didn’t quite get the run he wanted, he was in great spirits as always.  "I’m still proud of the run I put down.  Always room for perfection and hyped to make it into that heavy finals!”

In the Park Women’s finals Nikita improved heavily on her qualifying runs and moved from 6th up to 3rd place for one of the coveted podiums spots!  For her 3rd place run she came out of the gate to a huge flip over the box and kept the run going with tons of back-to-back tricks with great flow on the course, before ending her run with a massive tabletop on the quarter.  Here's a link to her entire 3rd place run.

Nikita had this to say about the event:  “Super stoked to get on the podium at our first World Cup in two years!  I didn’t get to put down the run I wanted, so I’m leaving Montpellier with even more motivation to improve for the next one! Besides, I couldn’t be happier to see my little sister Liz (Lizsurley Villegas Serna) take the win (in her first ever World Cup final). She absolutely smashed it!”

Fans are so pumped that FISE is hosting live BMX events again, and we can’t wait to see what the Mongoose athletes do at the next event!
