Mongoose BMX Pro Team to Host Dirtvana Jam at Riveter Bike Park
Mongoose and our professional BMX team is heading to the renowned Riveter Bike Park in Mills River, N.C., on August 6 to host the inaugural Mongoose Dirtvana Jam.
The event, which will feature X Games medalists Kevin Peraza, Pat Casey, Mykel Larrin and Ben Wallace, along with Olympian Nikita Ducarroz, will give local youth and bike enthusiasts the chance to meet and ride with the world-class Mongoose team. This marks the first time that Mongoose has hosted a Jam at a dirt-only bike park, drawing on the brand’s BMX roots.
“I just love that we are doing an all-dirt Jam,” said Mongoose Sports Marketing Manager, Leigh Ramsdell. “The Riveter is a perfect place to host our first Dirtvana Jam because it has something for riders of all skill levels. We have a solid team out there to help kids learn new skills, and we’ll have some special guests like Steve Crandall who will be announcing the event and bringing his personal love of the sport to the mic. The day will be filled with bikes, friends, and smiles!”
The all-day Dirtvana Jam event will be split into multiple sessions – welcoming both male and female riders. In the morning, the event will start under the canopy with the beginner and intermediate jump line jam for local amateurs with age brackets for awards and prizes from the Mongoose team. In the afternoon, the event will continue under the canopy for the open expert class. The open expert class will also feature a “Best Trick” award presented by USA BMX Freestyle. The day will finish off outside on a newly built pro-line for the pro demo from the Mongoose team. All contest participants will go home with a Mongoose prize bag for entering.
“I’m so pumped that the Jam will be at the Riveter! It’s such a fun park that provides endless laps all day,” said Olympic Bronze Medalist Nikita Ducarroz. “Dirt has to be the most fun thing to ride on the planet and I don’t get to enjoy it enough. It’s been a minute since we’ve had a Mongoose Jam as well so I’m excited to get everyone back together again just to see the stoke on everyone’s faces!”
The Dirtvana Jam is open to the public and costs $25 to enter or $40 for a weekend pass to Riveter.
