Cam Wood Wins Race of Champions on Thanksgiving
USA BMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa, OK, are upon us, and Mongoose race pro Cam Wood celebrated Thanksgiving by winning the Race of Champions (ROC) on Day 1 against some of the top men's elite riders in the world!
Cam said, "I started a little bit slow this morning and just worked my way into the day and I managed to grab a much-needed win and put me right into a situation where I can control my own destiny for the title tomorrow."
As you may know, Cam came back from a shoulder injury he sustained earlier this year, which makes this win that much sweeter. “It’s been a rollercoaster of a year really with a lot of highs and lows. I had four months off recovering from a shoulder injury. Fortunately, I was able to come back strong and the last few races I felt like myself again.”
Today proved he was back and he ended by saying, “This environment at the Grands, in this building…I look forward to this race every year and it’s one of my favorites. It’s a great start to the weekend.”
